Door codes that
handle themselves.
Connect your smart lock once. hostdawg generates a unique code for every guest, texts it to them before arrival, and pulls it back the moment they check out. No spreadsheet. No “what’s the code again?” texts at midnight.
One screen for every code,
every lock, every guest.

Native integrations with the most popular Wi-Fi smart locks. If yours isn’t on the list, RemoteLock covers another 100+ brands.
The “what if” questions, answered.
What if my lock loses Wi-Fi while a guest is checking in?
hostdawg programs the code onto the lock itself the moment it's generated — not over the cloud at check-in time. As long as the lock had Wi-Fi when the code was programmed (usually hours or days before arrival), the guest can still get in even if the lock is offline at the moment they try. We also keep a manual backup code you can text on a Sunday afternoon if anything goes sideways.
Does it work with my existing Airbnb / Vrbo listings, or do I have to move bookings?
Your listings stay exactly where they are. hostdawg connects via two-way iCal sync, sees every booking from every channel, and triggers a code for each one. Your guests still book on Airbnb or Vrbo the way they always have — they just get a cleaner check-in experience.
What about my cleaner — do they need to use my account?
No. You set up a recurring cleaner code that's only valid during their scheduled turnover windows (e.g. Mon & Thu, 9 AM–1 PM). They get one code that they can use for as long as they're cleaning for you. You can also share a read-only calendar feed if they want to see the schedule.
Can a guest still see their code if they lose the SMS?
Yes. The code is also in their confirmation email, on their direct booking page (if they booked direct), and you can resend the SMS in one tap from the hostdawg app. If they're really stuck, you can also send a temporary backup code from your phone.
What happens if I have to manually let someone in?
You always have an "always-on" owner code that never expires, plus you can generate a one-off code for a contractor, a friend, or a delivery — set it to expire in 2 hours, 24 hours, or never. Every manual code shows up in the activity log too.
Is the connection between hostdawg and my lock secure?
Yes. We use the official OAuth flow for every lock brand we support — we never see or store your lock account password. Code transmission to the lock uses each brand's encrypted API. We log every code change with a timestamp and the source (guest booking, manual, cleaner schedule). You can revoke hostdawg's access at any time from your lock's app.
What if my lock isn't on the supported list?
Most likely it's already supported through RemoteLock, which bridges to 100+ brands including Kwikset, Brivo, dormakaba, and Salto. If it really isn't, you can still use hostdawg for the calendar, SMS, and AI features — just drop us a note about your lock model and we'll let you know when it lands.
