Text message program

What hostdawg texts, and how hosts optionally opt in to message their cleaners and guests. Consent is never required to use hostdawg.

Who hostdawg is

hostdawg (operated by PHARMDAWG AI LLC) is software that short-term-rental hosts use to run their own properties. It is not a consumer sign-up service. Recipients of any text are people the host already has a direct relationship with — their cleaners and their booked guests.

What we send

Messages are transactional and tied to a specific booking. We do not send marketing or promotional texts. There are two types:

  • Cleaner turnover dispatch — on the morning of a checkout, e.g. “hostdawg: Tin Shed checkout today 2026-07-15. Time for your turnover. Reply Y to confirm. Reply STOP to opt out.”
  • Guest check-in info — before arrival, e.g. “hostdawg: Welcome to Langley House on 2026-07-12. Door code: 4829. Check-in from 3pm. Reply STOP to opt out.”

How opt-in works

Opting in to messaging is optional and never required. A host can create an account, add properties, add cleaners, and create bookings without enabling any SMS.

When a host adds a cleaner, or enters a guest’s phone number on a booking, an unchecked, clearly-optional consent checkbox appears. The host checks it only if they have that person’s permission to be texted. They can leave it unchecked and still save — in which case hostdawg never texts that recipient. Only when the box is checked do we record consent (with a timestamp) and send the transactional messages above.

Frequency, rates, and opt-out

  • Frequency. Varies and is tied to bookings (for example, around each check-in or checkout).
  • Rates. Message and data rates may apply, depending on the recipient’s mobile carrier and plan.
  • Opt-out. Recipients can reply STOP at any time to stop all messages, and HELP for help.
  • No data sharing. Mobile opt-in information and consent are never shared with third parties for marketing or promotional purposes.
